A decade has passed
since Tangled Roots performed its first show for a curious and enthusiastic
audience. Ten years and hundreds of shows later, the crowds, enthusiasm and
curiosity have grown. Curiosity? Wouldn't you get to know a band after that
long? The one thing you can count on with Tangled Roots is change. It's as
if the very name invites each band member: "Present your influences, and
wear them on your shirtsleeves." Influences, they got 'em. And they have
thrived on a variety of styles, tempos and genres, each song a work of art
aimed like a shotgun at the hardcore Bluegrass fan, sure to hit the general
music lover. Entering its tenth year with a few new faces and a name change,
there's one more thing you can count on from this group: its commitment to

Tangled
Roots Valley Road
is
the second CD for the Twin Cities based bluegrass band. It features the band
on 14 songs that came from various sources with the title cut, Valley Road,
written by Bruce Hornsby. The remainder of the album features tunes made
famous by Red Allen and Buddy Holly and tunes written by Barry St. Mane,
Chris Silver, Pete Wernick, Marshall Wilburn and Mickey Newburg. Tangled
Roots recruited two of their alumni, Chris Silver and Pete Mathison, to lend
their talents on a few tunes as well. This CD is also available at the
Homestead Pickin' Parlor.

Marrone Seven Years With The
Special Consensus
is a compilation CD of the 16 tunes Marty recorded with
Special Consensus during his 7 year tenure. Songs on this disc include Bill
Monroe's "Walls of Time", Michael Johnson's "I Will Whisper Your Name",
Robin and Linda Williams' "The Leavin' Train" and Elvis Presley's "Viva Las

Tangled
Roots Angel From Montgomery,
released in August 2002, features the band on 13 cuts of traditional,
progressive, and original bluegrass music. It provides a perfect showcase of
the band’s material with two of the 13 tunes penned by Chris Silver. The
balance of the material ranges from Roy Acuff and Carter Stanley to Bruce
Cockburn and Kevin Welch. This CD is also available at the Homestead Pickin'
Parlor.
